Last Days of Summer in my Little Black Sun Dress

Hi all,
This week is the last week of summer in Australia, aka my last week of holidays. I’ve been spending it in Brisbane with my boyfriend and yesterday on our evening stroll we snapped these shots walking along the bicentennial bikeway and in West End.
I got this dress last week from Bardot, it was fairly exy but luckily I received it as a late Valentines gift ;) l I love how simple, yet pretty it is for a day out and about. The racerback with the zipper is probably my favourite feature of the dress. Being 100% viscose it’s also super comfortable, which is a must in this Aussie heat.
I purchased this woollen floppy hat on e-bay last year for $11! I’d seen them everywhere in the shops but they were all at least $30, so being me I took a look on e-bay to find one for a third of the price! And if you look here, you will find one I scavenged for even cheaper just for you guys! You can thank me later (or in the comments below!).
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and if you’re a uni student about to head to school like me, I wish you luck for the coming semester.

Little Black Skirts & Silk Crepe Crops

Hello lovelies,
Hope the weekend treated you all well! Today I bring you some of my haul from the Brisbane suitcase rummages that I’ve been to over the last few weekends! I think I’ve become addicted to these markets, I love how I can find big fashion brands for a tiny price reinforcing my mantra that you can be a student on a tiny budget and still keep up with the latest trends.
Crops are everywhere right now and today I am wearing this Backstage silk crop which I bought from the markets for $4! Such a steal! I looked up a similar crop on the Backstage website and was astonished to find it $110! I also did a search on e-bay, to find you guys a cheaper option and found this one which is similar in style but a different colour.
Pleated skirts also seem to be on trend right now and this black pleated one also only cost me $4 at the rummage markets! It is by a band called Bling & Chic and I am in love! I found this one on e-bay, which is the same label with a similar style, but different colour. I also found this super cheap alternative, perfect for if you simply want a black pleated skirt!
My sunnies are from a sunglass stall at Carrara Markets on the Gold Coast, I’ve had them for ages now and love their chic and simple style!
I have a stack of new clothing to shoot that I can’t wait to show you guys because you shouldn’t have to for-go fashion, just because you’re a student! (Or on a budget)

My Shift Dress Obsession

I’ve been obsessed with shift dresses lately I just had to share a post about one! I’ve recently bought 5 shift dresses but this one would have to be my favourite. I love how this dress from Dotti is so versatile, it’s casual paired with strappy sandals, or you can easily dress it up with a pair of heels and statement necklace, which is what I did when I went to Cloudland in Brisbane last month.
Being able to dress up a piece or wear it casually is definitely a big factor I consider when shopping, especially being a student on a tight budget!
Let me know in the comments below if you have any pieces you can’t stop wearing because, simply because you can wear them everywhere!

Botanical Dreaming

Hello all!
Today I’m posting more photos taken at the Darwin City Botanical Gardens, but this time wearing my high waisted maxi skirt that I recently purchased at I fell in love with this skirt as soon as I saw it on the website and knew I had to have it! I just love the colours and the print and it’s great for an outdoors occasion on a warm summers day!
Holidays are coming to an end soon, but I have a few posts planned for the next coming weeks so stay tuned! Besides working on these posts I plan to use the remainder of my holidays sipping coffee with old friends and hanging out with my boyfriend who is coming to visit me in two weeks!
Comment below and let me know of your holiday plans, I love to hear what others are doing!

Introducing Me & My Designs

Hi all!
I’ve decided to start posting my own material on this blog! I plan to post my own material weekly and would love any feedback you can give!
Over the past few weeks I have been playing around with fabrics and sewing up my own shorts which I plan to sell at the suitcase rummage markets in Brisbane this weekend.
With that in mind I decided to model a couple of pairs for the world to see! So last weekend I visited my boyfriend in Darwin where we went to the city’s botanical gardens to get a few shots. Unfortunately, being the wet season in Darwin the sky was constantly overcast and we weren’t able to get the bright, sunny pictures I was imagining but I had a lot of fun shooting this and I’m excited to shoot for more posts like this in the future!
White high neck singlet (malibu crop):
Shorts (blue and orange): Anne in the Dollhouse (a.k.a me!)
Shoes (black buckle clogs): London Rebel
Shoes (white cross over buckles): K-mart
Flower Crown: Cosmetics Plus
And if you like what you see and you’re in the Brisbane area, come by my way at the suitcase rummage markets this Sunday!
