NYE in this Black Lace Playsuit

Universal Store Black Lace Playsuit, Sportsgirl Bag, Famous Footwear Shoes

Happy New Year's Eve! I hope you guys are all looking forward to a big night of celebrations tonight. I just thought I'd share one of my outfit options for tonight which is this gorgeous black lace playsuit from Universal store. I'll just be heading out for dinner and a few drinks and then finding a spot on the beach to watch the midnight fireworks. Nothing too hectic, just a nice relaxed night considering I need to prepare to head back to uni tomorrow after my little break.

It's been a good year for my blog - I've posted consistently this year and it has slowly but steadily grown! So thank you to those of you who support my blog and read all my posts - it means a lot! I've got a lot of content planned for the new year and some goals I'd like to share with you all once I've finished writing them out, so look out for those in the new year.

Until then I hope you all have a great night! Happy New Year!

Summer Evenings in my Little Orange Polka Dot Dress

Supre Orange Polka Dot Dress, Assembly Jacket, Converse Sneakers, The Horse Watch, Pandora Bracelet

This time of year is my favourite. Not only for the festivities that take place but also the warm, pleasant evenings and amazing sunsets at the end of the day. It's so nice to go for an evening beach stroll after your dinner, watching the sky turn from blue to orange and orange to purple. I also love the organisation mode I get in; reflecting on my progress over the past year and setting goals and making plans for the next year. Anyway, this will be my last post before Christmas, so I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! I'll be posting again next week, so stay tuned!

Also, let me know if the comments below, what are your goals for the coming year? They could be career, fitness, health, study or beauty related! Either way, I'd love to hear! Hearing other's goals gives me extra inspiration and motivation for setting and achieving mine!

Skincare Review: Drunk Elephant

Products Pictured: Drunk Elephant products (discussed below), Bobbi Brown Eye Cream, Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, This Works Clean Skin Rosehip Gentle Cleanser, Origins Retexturising Rose Clay Mask, Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (these are all available from Mecca), Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Facial Mist (available from Sephora).

Who else is in disbelief that we are in December already?! As the year comes to a close I often like to reflect on different aspects of my life - what I've achieved in terms of my career aspirations, fitness and health and where my beauty journey has taken me throughout the year. 2017 has been the year of skincare for me. I've become completely obsessed with buying and trying new skincare products and have learnt and experienced first hand the benefits of including powerful ingredients in your routine such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and retinol (vitamin A). One brand that has dramatically improved my skin this year is Drunk Elephant. It is quite a pricey brand so I thought I would give you guys a rundown of what I've found with each product so you guys can decide for yourselves if they are worth the splurge! Keep in mind I have slightly dry and dehydrated skin so if you're a different skin type, these may work a bit differently for you.

TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum - This serum contains glycolic acid - an AHA which is a chemical exfoliant. I use it every second night and have noticed a massive improvement in the clarity of my skin since using this product. My acne scars have slowly but surely faded and my skin now appears brighter. This will definitely continue to be a staple product in my skincare routine.

Lala Retro Whipped Cream Moisturiser - This moisturiser contains 6 different types of African oils and is super rich and nourishing. I would probably only recommend this to people with dry skin. I've even found it to be too heavy during the summer months but this was perfect for me during winter when my skin is typically drier. Once I started using this product mid-winter, all of my flakiness disappeared for the rest of winter. I was amazed, and I have now completely used this product up! I will definitely be repurchasing this moisturiser next winter to keep dry flaky skin at bay.

B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel - This is my most recent purchase from the brand. It contains pro-vitamin B5 and pineapple ceramides that help deeply hydrate the skin and smooth out wrinkles. It's such a beautiful, light-weight product that feels like a glass of water for your skin. It's super cooling and hydrating without being too heavy and I have been enjoying it this summer. I've noticed that my skin is deeply hydrated without feeling too heavy so I believe this is a good product for summer. I've tried using it alone and under moisturiser and feel that it works great both ways, giving me adequate moisture for the summer months.

Lippie Balm - This is a lovely nourishing lip balm and I have been applying it before bed. It's nice and nourishing however probably not much different to my Burt's Bees lip balms that are a lot cheaper. For this reason, I am not sure if I will repurchase this balm although I have been enjoying it.

These aren't all the products in the range, and I'm really itching to try the Vitamin C serum as it's meant to be super brightening for your skin, but hopefully, a review of these few products gives you guys an idea of the brand's products. Have you guys tried any drunk elephant skincare products? What did you think of them?

I hope this post was interesting and informative! Let me know in the comments if you guys would like to see anymore skincare reviews or a post talking about some key skincare ingredients and how they might benefit you. There will be some new outfit posts going up soon when I get a chance to fit in some outfit shots between shifts on my clinical rotations! Until then,

Making Lemonade

Princess Polly Dress (Similar Here), Dissh Bag, Dissh Earings, Pandora Bracelet, Betts Shoes

I am obsessed with lemons, I always have been. When I was little I used to get excited when I got lemon slices in a drink because I would literally eat them like an orange afterwards, I actually liked the taste! These days my obsession isn't quite so crazy. I no longer eat them like oranges but love sipping on hot water with lemon every morning, it's so refreshing! Anyway, besides loving the actual fruit I'm also obsessed with lemon prints. Which is why as soon as I saw this dress on Princess Polly I had to grab it! I'm also in love with the scoop back detail. It's the perfect summer dress!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Pinstripes & Pompoms

Princess Polly Playsuit, Betts Sandals, Torga Optical Glasses, Dissh Earings, Pandora Bracelet

Hey all, this is my second post in collaboration with Torga Optical Chermside, and I honestly think these glasses are my favourite. I feel as though the shape suits my face perfectly and they're such a pretty blue colour! Speaking of pretty blue colours I'm also obsessed with this Princess Polly playsuit and can't wait for freedom from exams so I stroll along the beach drinking smoothies and soaking up some vitamin D in this cute playsuit. I'm in love with the stripes and pompom trim detailing - so perfect for summer. For now though I need to get back to study, and I'm going to have to leave you guys here. Speak soon,

Glasses & Glassons

I'm so grateful that I've always had perfect vision and have never had to wear glasses, but these cute frames from Togra Optical at Chermside Westfield honestly make me wish I did! They definitely gave my usual girly getup a fresh look and I am obsessed with them! So if you're in the Brisbane area and in need of some new frames I would definitely check them out!

I'm also loving anything from Glasson's lately and this top and skirt are no exceptions! I'm so glad off the shoulder tops are still in and I'm looking forward to buying a heap more this Spring! Anyway I need to get back to study, but if you're keen to check out some more of Torga's eyewear I'll be posting some more photos of different frames on Insta @anneinthedollhouse, or you can check out their page @torgaopticalaus.

I'm keeping it short and sweet tonight because I'm so tired and keen to get to sleep! Just thought I should let you guys know how in love I am with these peachy coloured culottes from Glassons at the moment. They can be dressed up or down! I feel like they'd also look really cute with a T-shirt and sneakers. I might have to try this the next time I wear them! I hope you are all having a lovely week and will hopefully be posting again soon!

Strapless Gingham

I am so glad it is finally spring. I just love the sight of flowers blooming, the daylight lasting longer and most importantly the flowy and dreamy dresses that come into stores in Spring like this strapless gingham number I'm sharing today. I can't wait to wear this, enjoying a picnic in the park or visiting some local markets, if I ever get some down time on the weekends - which seems to be non-existent at the moment thanks to endless mid-semester exams. Never fear though, mid-semester break is coming soon (at least this is what I keep telling myself as I'm cramming in my lectures on spinal surgery in dogs this weekend) and I'll definitely be getting out in the sun and hopefully documenting it over on Instastories and through my Instagram posts. (My username is @anninthedollhouse in case any of you would like to follow along!) For now though, I need to get back to study. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Mum Jeans & Blush Tees

Supre Cropped Blush T-Shirt (Similar Here), Wrangler Jeans, Target Mules (Similar Here)

If you find a rustic pale pink staircase it's practically a crime not to stop and take a few photos right? I love how these photos turned out and most of all I love these jeans! I never thought I would be into mum jeans but these high-waisted ones are perfect. They're just the right level of bagginess to be stylish, but not hobbo. And a hundred times more comfortable than my Levis skinnies. Paired with a tee and some comfy mules and you're set for a day of cosy style.

The days have definitely been getting warmer recently and I am so ready for spring and all the pretty outfits I have planned, watch this space! Anyway I am off to study for a chicken medicine and radiology exam. Hoping you are all having a great week!

Blush Knits & Floral Dresses

I've been so in love with the trend of wearing jumpers under summer dresses lately! I'm such a summer girl and love buying summer dresses and outfits but can struggle with how to style myself in winter without looking like a cocooned caterpillar that hates the cold. Which is why this trend is probably the best thing to ever happen to me. Now I can use my summer dress buying addiction to my advantage in winter too and look stylish doing it! I have a tonne of uni work to catch up on, so I'm keeping it short and sweet today. Hope you are all going well. Speak again soon,

White Lace & Bell Sleeves

Princess Polly White Lace Top, A-brand Shorts (From Universal Store) (similar here), Dotti Belt, Windsor Smith Boots (similar here), Necklace from West End Markets Brisbane (similar here)

I feel like this top speaks for itself. It's such a stand-out piece that there really isn't much for me to say about it other than I'm obsessed with it. I love the mesh and lace detailing on the bell sleeves, the floral applique around the neckline, the pretty white lace and the cropped cut making it perfect to wear with anything high waisted - always a positive in my case. Here I styled this top with some denim shorts, vintage styled belt and black leather boots - perfect for festival however you could definitely make this look more girly with an A-line skirt or trousers and sandals. However you wear this top though, it's sure to be a stand-out!

I really wanted to get this outfit up before Splendour in the Grass as a little festival fashion inspiration but encountered many difficulties in getting these photos. I hope however they at least help to ease those post-festival blues. Besides frolicking around in this pretty top I am now back at uni, starting my last semester of lectures and theory before we jump straight into our final clinical year that consists entirely of placements. I'm super excited to finally almost be at a point where I get to put my knowledge into practice and save animals, however also completely terrified that I don't yet know enough. But I guess like all things, including when I started this blog, and when I started vet school, you have to trust yourself to work it all out and simply start somewhere.
Speak again soon,

Blush Tulle & Vintage Tee

Dotti Skirt (Similar Here), Thrills Tee-Shirt from Princess Polly, Assembly Denim Jacket from Universal Store (Similar Here), Windsor Smith Boots, K-mart Socks, Quay Eyewear Sunglasses

I'm finally back with a new post, and none less than a pink tulle skirt. I'm obsessed with this outfit, and although I'm not sure if I'd be brave enough to wear this pink tulle skirt out in public I love it anyway. It's just super cute and very me but I definitely feel like pairing it with a vintage T-shirt and leather boots helps tone the girliness down a bit. It's uni holidays at the moment, so expect to see a whole lot of new posts being put up on the blog soon!

All my love,
Kelly xx

Blush Sweater & Ripped Jeans

H&M Blush Sweater, Dotti Boyfriend Jeans, Converse Sneakers

The winter most definitely hit us this week, and I couldn't think of a more perfect outfit than this comfy blush sweater, ripped jeans and converse. It may not be a particularly fancy outfit but I love the casual street style look for those lazy days. Or in my case now when you're locked away studying for finals. Ahh how is it June already? Vet school has definitely kicked it up a notch this semester but I feel like it's a sign the end of this long and hard degree is getting closer. And after these set of exams I'll have a few weeks to focus on creating more blog content! But for now I hope you enjoy this post.
